Born in a small Oklahoma town in the first wave of Baby Boomers, I obtained my degree in Speech and Theater Arts from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, where I met and married Al, the love of my life. We made our home in Tulsa, raised 2 children, and pastored several churches before starting a business almost by accident.
In 1979, I took a community education night class in calligraphy. I enjoyed it so much that with little thought and no preparation, I left my job at an advertising agency and started my own business providing hand-lettered Scriptural and inspirational sayings. Al learned to mat and frame my artwork, and eventually we hit the road doing art shows all over the country in addition to selling to gift shops and Christian book stores. We did this for fifteen years, homeschooling our children and seeing America.
Six years ago we left Tulsa to move back to my hometown and take care of my Mom, who has now gone to be with the Lord. We decided that we like the peace, quiet and privacy of the country, and have given up the city life.
Many years ago, Al and I came into a new spiritual understanding. Commonly called, the “Hebraic Roots of Christianity” or “The Messianic Movement,” this new awareness has energized our walk with the Lord. We founded two small congregations in Tulsa and also have a ministry called Two Wild Olives through which we both teach the Biblical festivals such as Passover, Firstfruits, Trumpets, Tabernacles, etc. I use my degree and experience in Speech and Theater Arts to make these festival observances an interactive experience with costumes, scenery, music and dance.
In addition to my framed artwork, we plan to produce Messianic greeting cards (I was a designer for DaySpring cards), clothing with Scripture embellishment, Hebraic marriage contracts called ketubot, books on Hebraic subjects, and many other Hebraic products.
